The Bae Law Group Hosts Free Presentations for Laid Off Foreign Workers

January 29, 2009
The Bae Law Group will be providing free presentations to foreign workers who have been laid off or are concerned about their status due to the current economic climate. Immigrants are essential to the economic recovery of the United States as they provide essential skills in all sectors of our economy. Unlike US citizens and permanent residents, employment termination requires most foreign nationals to immediately leave the US. This includes their children who have never known a home outside the United States. We at The Bae Law Group feel a personal commitment to this silent minority whose dilemma has been overshadowed by the dire global economic meltdown.

Attorneys from the firm, including founder Davis C. Bae, will be hosting presentation events at the firm's downtown Seattle location and at several locations throughout the Puget Sound region. Our goal is to educate foreign nationals in various visa statuses, including H-1B, L-1, TN, and E, and those who are already on the path toward US permanent resident status. In addition, we will inform attendees how best to position themselves for new employment and retain their existing status or permanent resident process.

The Bae Law Group is also actively seeking employers willing to review the resumes of individuals who require H-1B or other immigration sponsorship. Many employers in the region are still willing to hire foreign nationals to supplement their domestic work force. In many cases, foreign nationals have unique skills and abilities that are essential to companies less affected by the downturn in the economy. These employers are welcome to attend our presentations or provide contact information for individuals seeking employment.

The first of these presentations will be held at The Bae Law Group on February 6th at 12 pm. Presentations will occur weekly at various locations through March. Early feedback indicates high demand for these presentations and space is limited. To reserve a seat, please email a request to info@baelawgroup.com.
