Individuals who have achieved a high level of international recognition and acclaim in a specific academic field are eligible to apply for permanent residency under employment based first preference category as an Outstanding Professor or Researcher. Applicants must possess at least three years of teaching or research experience in their respective field of endeavor, maintain an intent to teach or carry out research in that particular field in the United States, and have an offer of employment in their field.
The offer of employment must be an academic research, tenured or tenure track position with an accredited university or a permanent research position with a private employer with at least three full-time researchers and documented accomplishments in the same field.
